Square D MAG-GARD Motor Circuit Protectors
MAG-GARD motor circuit protectors provide protection for short circuit
conditions only. The trip unit has a single adjustment for
instantaneous pickup that, if exceeded, will trip the circuit breaker
with no intentional delay. Square D MAG-GARD circuit breakers are UL
recognized components and comply with NEC requirements for providing
motor short-circuit protection when installed as part of a UL Listed
combination controller having motor overload protection. Interrupt
ratings are established for these UL Listed combination.
Square D MAG-GARD circuit breakers are available in "J" construction only and
will accept the same lugs and accessories as equivalent POWERPACT
electronic trip circuit breakers. MAG-GARD circuit breakers will
not accept any communications or other trip unit accessories.

Interrupting Ratings
Square D thermal-magnetic molded case circuit breaker can be standard
interrupting, high interrupting, extra high interrupting, and time
current limiting in construction and are UL Listed for the interrupting
ratings shown below.
UL recognizes component combinations (circuit breaker / circuit breaker
and fuse / circuit breaker) for series connected interrupting ratings.
All series rated combinations are marked on the end use equipment along
with the statement, "Caution - Series Rated System."
